Childcare in the UK is underfunded

Higher parent fees, fewer places and nurseries closing.

 

For nursery settings in all UK nations, the rise in national insurance contributions (NICs) and staffing costs will drastically impact their setting, putting them under huge financial pressure.

Children are ultimately the ones who will suffer. The continuous underfunding of the early years sector cannot go on. The Government must put our children at the heart of their agenda and decision-making.

NDNA offices close at 4:30pm on 23 December and re-open at 8:30am on 2 January 2025.

 

If you have any safeguarding concerns, it is important that you follow your local safeguarding procedures. Contact your local authority children’s services/social workers to speak to the off-duty social worker.
