Description
This factsheet briefly introduces the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and explains further the implications of the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 (the Act) on practice in an Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) setting. It will set out how the Act came about and what impact this will have on children’s rights in everyday life in Scotland.
The fact sheet will also set out the process of carrying out a Children’s Rights and Wellbeing Impact Assessment (CRWIA) on projects, which will ensure that you are embedding UNCRC into the development of your service.
