What will I learn
This introductory level course will develop practitioner confidence in delivering the educational programme for mathematics, revised EYFS 2023. It will cover how this can be put into practice across the 0-5 age range.
Within the educational programme for mathematics it states that it is ‘important for children to develop positive attitudes and interests in mathematics’. Babies and young children have a natural interest in mathematics from birth. It is important this interest in nurtured in the early years, so children can develop a strong positive attitude towards maths.
The course will examine individual aspects of the educational programme for mathematics and how these can be implemented. A bank of mathematical activity ideas will be provided to apply in your setting.
