Description

Understand how to keep children safe with this Introduction to Child Protection (Scotland) online course.

What will I learn?

Child Protection is everybody’s responsibility. Any person that is in contact with children and their families has a role to play in keeping them safe.

It is a requirement of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) codes of practice and the Health and Social Care Standards, that Early Learning and Childcare Practitioners have an understanding and working knowledge of child protection policy and procedure, in line with the National Guidance for Child Protection in Scotland, 2021 and Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC).

This online course will give you extra reassurance and confidence in your practice to recognise signs of harm and protect children.

Key Topics include:
• Legislation relating to child protection
• Types of child abuse
• Recognising the signs of abuse and what to do next
• Child abuse in specific circumstances
• How to report concerns and handle disclosures
