This course will enable practitioners to understand reflective processes and the benefits of reflective practice.

What will I learn?

The aim of the course is to review and develop reflective practice processes through deepening your understanding of the benefits of being evaluative. Along with looking at what is meant by reflective practice.

It will support you how to reflect, both as an induvial and as part of a team along with exploring models of reflective practice. As well as identifying the expectations for reflection in the curriculum.

Reflective practice is an integral aspect of quality practice. Engaging in continuous reflection and self-evaluation for improvement is vital in order to deliver high quality provision for children. It will explore the benefits for practitioners, and for children and their families.

Key topics include:

  • The importance of including children, parents, carers and families in reflective practice
  • Identify the barriers and challenges in regards to reflective practice and how to address them
  • Identify tools to support and understand how to select the suitable tools
  • Next steps in looking to embed reflective practice, both personally and within your setting.

Course duration: 2-3 hours
