This resource, developed by CWLWM, unpacks the main elements of the curriculum for funded non-maintained nursery settings. 

A series of slides that include conversations with practitioners who share their experiences of introducing the curriculum. This resource comes in six parts and is perfect for discussions in team meetings or for you to follow in your own time.

Cynefin 

This resource, developed by CWLWM and Powys Early Years team, will help you understand the concept of Cynefin, which means ‘The place where we feel we belong’, and how it can be introduced to young children. It includes songs, experiences, books, and some Welsh vocabulary to enhance their learning experience. Suitable for children ages 0 to 5.

Hwb Resources:

Hwb is a central digital platform for education resources and guidance to help support teaching and learning through Curriculum for Wales.

It’s a great tool for both learners and professionals. Hwb is accessible without the need for an account as 90% of content is publicly available.  

The Hwb Resources section includes a range of resources and case studies to help you support learners at the beginning of the 3-16 learning continuum.  

The search bar located at the top of the foundation learning page will help locate resources that have been tagged with a keyword when they were uploaded to Hwb Resources e.g. all resources which have been tagged with the word ‘outdoor learning’ when uploaded onto Hwb will appear in a list. 

On the left-hand side you have foundation learning taxonomy which simply refers to how a resource/case study is categorised on Hwb Resources. Under foundation learning there are themes, pedagogy and developmental pathways with further subcategories you can click on
