Do I need all these policies?

Every early years setting in the UK must have clear, accessible policies covering safeguarding, health and safety, staffing, behaviour and other statutory areas. Additional policies help strengthen practice and support staff training.

Are policy templates included with NDNA membership?

Yes. Members have access to regularly updated templates, guidance notes and supporting documents to help maintain compliance.

Are these policies EYFS compliant?

Yes. All England policy templates and guidance follow the latest statutory EYFS requirements and reflect best practice recommended by Ofsted.

How often should policies be reviewed?

Policies should be reviewed at least annually, or sooner if there are changes to legislation, staffing, incidents or inspection feedback.

Can I edit NDNA policy templates to suit my nursery?

Yes. NDNA encourages nurseries to adapt the templates to reflect their individual procedures, setting‑specific practices and terminology.
