This factsheet briefly introduces the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and explains further the implications of the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Bill 2021 on practice in an Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) setting. It will set out how the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Bill 2021 came about and what impact this will have on children’s rights in everyday life in Scotland.
The factsheet will also set out the process of carrying out a Children’s Rights and Wellbeing Impact Assessment (CRWIA) on your policies and procedures, which will ensure that you are embedding UNCRC into the policy and practice levels of your service.
