Is maths development in children at your setting falling behind other areas of learning? This may be down to the confidence and skills of your practitioners.
NDNA’s award-winning Maths Champions programme will help you build your team’s confidence in maths through structured activities and online training.
Initially a year-long programme, with the option to extend Maths Champions includes:
- Various skills assessments and an audit of the current state of your maths provision
- Access to a whole host of support to develop your maths skills and provision with other members of staff
- A range of core activities, room plans and the Basic and Key Skill Builder, you will also create an action plan for after completion of the project to continue development
- Upon completing the programme, a certificate of participation to demonstrate your dedication to developing maths provision for the children at your setting.
It is led by your ‘champion’ member of staff and builds your practitioners’ confidence in maths, to further support your children in gaining a stronger foundation in maths from birth upwards.
“Reviewing children’s progress has shown us that this project has had a positive impact on children’s learning as more progress is now being made in Mathematics. Although we have completed the project, our Maths Champions remain in place to continue the valuable role.” Ashley Williams-Day – Quality & Training Manager – HoneyPot Nurseries
Note: this programme is relevant for England-only settings.
