Description
This policy sets out how settings will respond effectively to accidents, incidents and first aid needs to ensure the safety and well-being of all children, staff and visitors. Settings are committed to providing a safe environment and to taking prompt, appropriate action when accidents occur, including administering first aid, recording incidents accurately and working in partnership with parents. This policy also supports ongoing monitoring and review to help minimise risks and prevent future incidents, ensuring that children are cared for with compassion, professionalism and in line with current statutory guidance.

Please note that these are templates that you should adapt according to the needs of your setting. All information is correct at the date of publishing. Settings have the responsibility to ensure they are up to date with legislation in between each published update of the templates (usually January and July each year). We appreciate all settings are unique, so we recommend you read through each template carefully before making appropriate changes. The templates are in Word format so they are easy to personalise and brand.
