Christmas gingerbread biscuits activity outline
- Read the gingerbread man story to the children. If you don’t have the story book, you can watch a video together before starting your baking session
- Show the recipe on a tablet or write it on a large piece of card/paper – add images/draw symbols for each ingredient/step for the children to follow
- Wash hands
- Read through the recipe together, look at the ingredients and utensils
- Once you have formed your dough, divide it into equal pieces so all children can roll their own and cut out their own biscuit
- When they are cooked and cooled, encourage children to use the icing and decorations to create their own unique gingerbread person
- You can either enjoy your home-made biscuits at tea/snack time together, or you can wrap them up to go home.
