NDNA recognised as one of UK’s Best Workplaces in Charity sector

The 2025 UK’s Best Workplaces in Charity & Not-For-Profit™ list was revealed yesterday by Great Place To Work® UK, recognising NDNA among the list in both the Charity and Not for Profit and Education and Training categories.

67% of employees at National Day Nurseries Association say it is a great place to work*, compared to 54% of employees at a typical UK based company

Great Place To Work® UK administered their research-backed Trust Index© employee survey and analysed the responses of UK-based charity and not-for-profit sector employees to determine the Best Workplaces™ list.  The surveys asked employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organisation was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.

Tim McLachlan, Chief Executive of NDNA, said:

“I am incredibly proud of our dedicated and passionate staff who make NDNA such a fantastic place to work. Every day, they bring enthusiasm, commitment and care to everything they do, not just for each other, but for the nurseries and children we support across the country. This recognition is a true reflection of their hard work and team spirit, and it’s wonderful to see their voices celebrated in this way.”

NDNA’s employees anonymously shared their experiences in our latest Trust Index© survey results:

“Since joining, I have been made to feel so welcome and can see that everybody who works here wants to help others to do the best job possible to support the work of such an important sector.”

“I am proud to be able to contribute of the wonderful work that goes on here and to be part of the team.”

“The autonomy and trust I experience in this role is not like I have ever experienced.”

“Top up time and NDNA stars is a lovely way to celebrate staff and share information. I have never worked somewhere with that type of communication and appreciation.”

“There is a humanness to the management style that I have never had before. I want to do the best job that I can for my team.”

Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work® UK said:
