Purnima Tanuku said: “Congratulations to all the winners and runners-up, it’s an amazing achievement in such a difficult year.

“It was so wonderful to be able to attend this event in person finally. I met so many people I had only seen on a screen previously, caught up with people I hadn’t seen for ages and there were lots of new faces too.

“We were so impressed with the standard of nominations this year and so many winners and finalists are NDNA members. You are all amazing.”

Cara Brundle added: “It was a privilege to see so many talented early years practitioners being recognised and celebrated for their hard work and professionalism. The Covid-19 hero award was particularly emotional when all those who had been nominated for making a difference during the pandemic stood up for applause.”
