Childhood verbal abuse by adults affects 2 in 5 children (41%) yet often goes unseen and unaddressed.

This practical and interactive session from Words Matter explores how everyday language impacts children’s wellbeing, alongside practical strategies to support positive communication. It will cover what childhood verbal abuse is, its impact, how to identify it, and what to do in real-life situations.

Delivered by Dr Fiona Pienaar, child and adolescent mental health specialist with over 30 years’ experience.

- Apply practical communication strategies
- Recognise the role of adult language in children’s wellbeing
